Protect your TV During your Move

couple moving tvSomething horrible that can happen when you’re moving is accidentally breaking the TV. All of use at A-1 Freeman Moving Group, we know it really sucks to finally get all moved in but not be able to relax in front of the TV because it broke. We want to make sure your move is as easy as we can here in Denver, whether you are moving somewhere locally or long distance. That’s why we write up a few tips and tricks for you need to pack up your TV.

First off, you require a box that’s will work for moving your television. The perfect box to use is the box that your TV originally came in – if you kept that. If you threw it out, you can purchase packaging designed for moving televisions from somewhere like a hardware store or a moving supply store. You should use a box that is just somewhat bigger than the TV, but not by a lot; you don’t want the TV to shift around when it’s inside. Transporting fragile and expensive items requires packaging, preparation, and moving experience, not simply large trucks or specialized equipment. At A-1 Freeman Moving Group our team of experienced movers is excited to help you with your move, even securing your TV and making sure it’s packaged up correctly.

Before anything else, a good idea is to take a photo of the back of the television with the cords connected. This will make everything much easier when you have to reinstall your TV. After this, get your TV ready to go. Unplug it and take out the power cord, then take out all other connecting cords. Place all of it in a bag together and keep it with the TV. You may have a base you need to take off of the television to fit it in the box. When that’s the case, make sure to put all the parts inside a reclosable bag and keep it in the box with the TV’s base so it won’t get lost.

Once you’re finished, start packing the TV up. No matter if your new home is far from Denver or you are only moving locally, it’s necessary to know your television is properly covered. You should use foam pieces to cover the TV screen, these will come in your kit if purchased one, or in the box that your TV came in if you have it. The foam doesn’t only keep the screen safe, but it also keeps your television from shifting around in the box when you’re moving. Steady the foam pieces using mover’s wrap or tape. Then use blankets or sheets to cover the TV and protect it from being scratched.

When your TV is completely covered up it’s time to place it in the box! Keep the television upright and secure it as well as you can by filling in holes with blankets. That way the TV won’t move and shift around in its box.

Once that’s done you’re all ready to go! Hopefully you have a moving company here in Denver to help you out, getting you across the country or your town quickly and safely, with all of your stuff intact. If not, A-1 Freeman Moving Group has got you covered! We can move you fast and efficiently, and we’ll make sure your TV is safe and sound so you have it all up and running when the big game comes around.
